Student engagement is a critical factor in achieving academic success and fostering a love for lifelong learning. Defined as the level of interest, curiosity, and involvement a student shows towards their learning, engagement is linked to higher academic performance, better retention rates, and enhanced overall development. This research brief explores the importance of active learning strategies in encouraging student engagement, with a focus on mini labs, project-based learning, flipped classrooms, and collaborative learning.
